a month away start getting garage ready if it is to be at your home ! lol have fun plenty of drinks in a cooler u can sell those as well got kids put them to work helping load and unload for your customers since there are 4 families doing this you should have plenty of help !
In addition to what was mentioned, be sure that at least one family member of each family is present to make negotiations. I can’t tell you how annoying it is to be a garage saler and offer a lower price and the person there says “it’s not my stuff, so I can’t adjust it.” Some things are just overpriced for being used.
price everything different colours for whoever is selling stuff
advertise in the local paper make large signs to place out on the street etc good luck and make big bucks

Neatness counts .Clean and dust everything .Use easy to remove tags to price your items.Organize your products in groups.A sale that looks like a pile of clothes or junk draws less people.Set prices at 33% of what it cost new.With clothes books or toys go for bulk sales.Have electrical source ready so buyers can test appliances and tools.Give buyers plenty breathing room to browes.Accept cash only.Have plenty of change and a calculator handy.Make all sales final.
Your friends need to help arrange things sothat they can get to the fact of the whole deals. And that’s it.
