Take you’re car out. drive around. see where the heavy traffic is. make sure the sign is bright so it will catch there attention!
well something that i would do is advertize in the local news paper, put up signs near by your house or advertize it on your car. i hope i was a help and good luck with ur sale:)
put signs on bulletin boards in stores around neighborhood get it out early. good luck
Here are some tips…
Make some good signs to direct traffic to your neighborhood. Neon colors are great… use big letters and a huge arrow. Keep the wording simple, so that the sign can be easily read from a moving vehicle.
Also, lots of people look up garage sale listings on craigslist.
Good luck with your sale!
There are a number of online resources to advertise your garage sale, but the following local advertising methods are critical to your success.
1. Use quality garage sale signs and include all of the important information like “what” it is, “when” it is and “where” it is. It sounds simple, but a lot of people really blow it with their signs.
2. If your community or city rules allow it, place your signs at as many major intersections leading to your location as possible. This includes local supermarkets, busy intersections, etc. Be sure to include directional arrow on your signs.
3. Put signs up the night before or the morning of the sale and please take them ALL down immediately after the sale. If everyone would take their signs down after their sale we probably wouldn’t have nearly as many municipal restrictions on garage sales.
4. Post sale notices on community bulletin boards, including those at supermarkets, post offices, feed stores, local hardware stores, etc.
5. Put an ad on Craigslist. Many people visit this site to learn about local garage sales, especially at the last minute.
6. Be sure to price your garage sale items properly and create a “shop feel” in your yard or garage to attract more people as they drive by. You will enjoy greater success with your sale if well prepared than if you simply throw things together at the last minute.
