I always hear how other scrapbookers find and buy nice scrapbooking stuff at garage sales. Now, I am thinking, is that really true? I don't usually go to garage sales, but I sure look around for a garage sale that will have scrap items. I would like to know if you have ever purchased anything scrapbook related at a garage sale that you were just surprised to find there?
Have you bought any scrapbook items at a garage sale?

YES! I have been very lucky finding great scrapbooking items at garage sales! My best find was a garage sale that had a HUGE rubbermaid tote full of brand new rubber stamps for nearly nothing! I bought a ton of them! Where I go to look for garage sales is craigslist and I have been very lucky! Hope this helps.
Not any scrap related items, but scraproom related items. I have bought vintage camera and typewiter. I also have sold scrapbook items in my garage sale….I had people coming over so excited to buy the stuff I no longer need or want.
Oh Yes! Love those garage sales! We are always finding craft items at garage sales. My mom recently bought a huge box of stamps for $25.00. My sister got a brand new heat gun for $1.00. Seems like people decide to start a new craft and then discover they really don’t like it or aren’t in to it and decide to sell everything. My own aunt went gung ho buying $100′s of dollars worth of scrapbooking supplies including a Sizzix machine and dies and tons of other stuff. She decided it wasn’t her thing and just gave my sister and I 4 crates of scrapbooking supplies. I highly recommend the garage sales. You never know when you’re going to find an awesome deal!
I have been lucky enough to have to have found several sales with lots of Creative Memories items for sale dirt cheap! I spent about $100 for everything and got about $500 in product! I paid $10 for an album that was brand new! Wish I could find more like these! Luckily my hubby was with me, so he has no idea how much I REALLY spend to feed my habit when I buy at retail!
Yes. One time a lady, who had apparently sold creative Memories, sold her entire stock. Filled my trunk to near over flowing, and paid $30 for the entire lot. I bet she still regrets that to this day lol.
I was at a yard sale a couple of months ago, and the lady was selling new scrapbooking stuff fairly cheap. I usually look for yarn, ribbon and pattern books myself.
Oh Yes!! I love looking for garage sales.. I do find scrapbook stuff at some of them. Especially, like the other lady said, it the sign or ad says “craft items”, I am there… I got the Ultimate Fiskars Embossing system for $.50, yes 50 cents… I was totally shocked and excited.. I have also gotten rubber stamps for a dime or a quarter a piece. I also LOVE going to The GoodWill Thrift Store, they have GREAT stuff there too.. I got a Creative Memories Power sorter box for $.99. I love garage sales and GoodWills….
I don’t usually have time to go to garage sales but was driving by a sale, stopped and to my surprise they had the plastic rolling 5 drawer storage tower from Jo Ann Fabrics, it had 4 or five stampin up sets, a couple individual stamps, water color pencils, colored pencils, brads, eyelets, a carving tool to make your own rubber stamps, about 10 stencil sheets, paper, ribbon and fibers and much more…I was amazed, It did not have a price and the husband said does $25.00 sound fair? The previous person said $30.00 was too much…I quickly bought it. It was too funny, the previous person came back and I had not loaded it yet and said she decided to buy it, but it was sold. Oh lucky me!
I went to one sale advertising scbk. stuff. Was there 10 min before she opened and her yard was already full of people. She sold her entire supplies but there was only some old magazines and less desirable stamps left – boo hoo – but I keep trying!
