Garage Sale.what is the best way to get rid of all I have for sale?
I have ALOT of stuff that I am not attached to and I just want to get rid of it. I would prefer to try to sell the items (books, tables, end tables, antiques, lighting fixtures, baby items, art, religious items, Christmas decorations, desks, bookshelves) instead of just getting a dumpster.
I had a garage sale last week, on a Tuesday, from 1pm - 5pm. I only got 4 customers, and only made $8.75, selling smaller items that I could have just donated to the salvation army.
So, after my sale, I went through everything and donated all the clothes, most of the books, and the smaller household items and antiques to the Salvation Army. The second sale is this coming Friday, from 2pm - 7pm (It CAN'T be on a weekend). I am advertising in the newspaper, in local supermarkets, at the local hospital, I am also putting up flyers throughout the city. Last time, I did all of the above EXCEPT advertising in the newspaper. I am putting in all of my advertisements that everything is $1.00 or less.
I didn't have enough room to be clear with my question, I guess.
What I want to know, with what you already know about my sale, what can I do to help make EVERYTHING sell this coming Friday, from 2pm - 7pm. I want EVERYTHING GONE by Friday.
I want an empty garage that I can park in. All this stuff was left my former tenants of my apartment building. Now that I am dating the owner of the building, I want to get rid of all this stuff.
Its not all in perfect condition, most of it is in FAIR condition.
How do I sell it ALL in ONE DAY?

i sold a bunch of junk i was going to throw away! made quite a chunk of change too! more than what i would’ve made at a garage sale! and it’s free to list on there! good luck!
I think you’re doing everything right. It will hurt you a bit that your sale is not on a Saturday morning, but Friday should go a lot better than a Tuesday.
you picked bad days to have a yard sale. the weekend is best for yard sales. you have to be up early though, set up by 7:30 a.m. then you will make some money, if you are going to set up during the week, call it a moving out sale. bd
let people you know and ask them to tell other people that you have very good bargains, sell your stuff as cheap as possible, make sure your items are clean, and presentable.don’t sell broken down stuff.
If you are truly unattached to things then you should be able to easily rid yourself of most everything you put out.
My first tip would be to set up a “1 Item Free With Any Purchase” table close to the area where you will be taking cash. This is a great place to set out items that (although you loved them at one time) probably wont sell on their own.
Secondly, If you have a small area where you can rope off and scatter a few toys on the ground this is great for those potential customers that are stuck dragging their 3yr olds around with them while shopping for a bargain. Even better if you have a girlfriend or teenage family member that might volunteer to hang out in their with the kiddo’s.
Hope your sale goes GREAT!!
well if you have some nice things you could always sell them on eBay. People who go to yard sales mostly go in the morning around 6
