Yard Sale Pricing Tip #25
When having a garage sale, don't overprice your items. This is not eBay. Remember - you are selling the stuff that you no longer want - and your best friend or family member doesn't even want.
So - - The trick is to not appear too greedy - and at the same time prevent from leaving very much "money on the table".
Items should be priced at approximately 10% to 25% of the original price that you paid when the item was new. The better the condition of the item - the more you can charge.
Forget marking items up in to the expensive collectable range - This is a garage sale after all.
Shoppers will appreciate fair pricing of your garage sale items. Regardless of whether you believe the item is priced correctly or not - you must be prepared to haggle a bit and negotiate a deal that leaves both parties with a winning feeling.
Remember to have fun - - This process is simply part of the thrill of having a yard sale.
